Even though music had always been a great influence in her life, she never thought of it as singing being her profession up until now. She slowly started to develop her voice and preparing herself to go on stage. She got asked to do some studio jobs like singing background vocals for other artists, singing demos and radio commercials. She performed on a national road-show, in little cafes, big theatres, sang for the prince of Maroc, sang a duet with Marco Borsato the no. 1 selling artist in the Netherlands, did background vocals for Tony Hadley, sang on a private birthday party of the director of Haute Couture Chanel and sang on the wedding of a family member of the Cashiragi's. After that she knew it was time to go to the next step: find out who she is as an artist.
After working with several producers she knew in witch directions she had to search to find what would fit best to her. Through a studio gig she meets Yanou, her producer. They had been working together for commercial jobs for almost a year already before they thought about doing something she wanted to do for her solo carrier. Then he came up with the brilliant idea to do "Heaven" in a dance version, a song performed/written by Bryan Adams in the early eighties.
While working on the product DJ Sammy joint the team for just this specific song. By the time they got to record it was Do's wish to do a ballad version of it. When the product was finished everybody was convinced that this was going to be the first international single released by her, DJ Sammy and Yanou. It turned out to be a top ten record all around the world. In the USA it made it to the fourth spot in the Billboard charts. And they also became the only artists in the American History of Music to have two versions of the same song in the Billboard charts at the same time. In Australia they were top three and in the UK they entered the charts at no. 1!
At this moment Yanou & their production company Toneteam are finishing her album that will be released in the year 2003.
