Finno-Ugric congresses are held every five years since 1960 in continuity of pre-WW II
Finno-Ugric cultural congresses.
The 9th Finno-Ugric Congress, Congressus Nonus
Internationalis Fenno-Ugristarum, devoted to Finno-Ugric studies on the threshold of the
new millennium, takes place from 7 to 13 August 2000 in Tartu, jointly organized by
Tartu University and the Estonian Finno-Ugric Committee.
