Blues Harmonica
Solo by James Graff 2005 Live Tallinn, Est.
Here I am
blowing some harp: I'm playing a Lee Oscar into a Shure Green Bullet
Mic into someones little Fender (sounds OK) Inspired by a few great
friends who really blew: Dirk Gilbert former frontman/harmonica
player/guitar for south Florida's MOTOR (Voted Best Hard Rock Band
and Nominated for Best Cover Band in Florida (Population 16 million)
by XS Magazine Readers, CD "Screaming Bloody Motor" Sold
thousands of copies, Videos for the singles "Reptile"
and "Pedal to the Metal" are still being played on cable
television all across Florida and received airplay in the US and
Europe), "Hurricane" Hirk of the Belmar duo Jr. and Hirk.
The video was shot by Liina Käiro at fall 2005 Mustang Concert
at Rock Cafe in Tallinn, Estonia: James Graff (singer/songwriter,
lead guitar, harmonica, musical slut) Agu Raudheiding (backing vocals,
bass) Urmas Voe (drums) and Andres Lass (good friend, lead guitar).
Bad Reputation
(My Family's Got A) 2005
Fall 2005
Mustang Concert at Rock Cafe in Tallinn, Estonia: James Graff (singer/songwriter,
lead guitar, harmonica, musical slut) Agu Raudheiding (backing vocals,
bass) Urmas Voe (drums) and Andres Lass (good friend, lead guitar).
"I wrote this parady song about my family - most of it based
on truths - around the time my uncle Alan - then speaker of the
house of NJ - was running for Governor of NJ. My aunt was a superior
court judge, my brother is still as described (he once broke my
finger because I won at chess) and my dog Puppy was notorious for
biting Bunky "Hang 'em High" Hurden - then cheif of police:
Puppy bit through Bunky's raincoat, jacket, dress shirt and under
shirt - my father paid the bill for replacing them all!!
Shooey Shuffle
(Do the Shalloo - Shoey, Shoe Wee!!)
Original
song by James Graff - this is a biographical song filled with TRUE
stories about my high school friend Tim Shalloo: "You guys
kill me!" "Numb Nuts!" The "Shooey Shuffle"
describes, pretty accurately, how Tim - completely wasted - would
shuffle along - bouncing like a pinball - from girl to girl and
from wall to wall at parties in our basement. The video was shot
by Liina Kairo during the Fall 2005 Mustang Concert at Rock Cafe
in Tallinn, Estonia: James Graff (singer/songwriter, lead guitar,
harmonica, sax, drums/percussion, musical slut) Agu Raudheiding
(backing vocals, bass) Urmas Voe (drums) and Andres Lass (good friend,
lead guitar - people said it would take a gun to his head to get
him back playing on stage after refusing to play in public for ten
years!!).
Viagra!
(Tequilla!)
Tequilla
Night at the Pussirohu Kelder (Gun-powder-keg Celler)in Tartu, Estonia.
The Pussirohu Kelder is in the guiness world book of records for
being the bar with the highest ceiling (it is inside cavernous hall
in the side of a mountain once used for storing gunpowder). This
particular they were having a "Tequilla" Night - so this
is actually the third or fourth time we played the song - although
you can't tell because the first couple times I played guitar and
when I switched to my vintage 1966 Selmer Mark VI Tenor sax the
band was a little thrown by the change. Liina Kairo took the video
of the Pussirohu Kelder "House Band": James Graff (filling
in on lead vocals, lead guitar, sax, amongst many others) Esko Tepper
(lead vocals , rhythm guitar) Urmas Voe (drums) and Alar Salurand
(lead vocals, bass).
This is the first time I ever played tenor sax in public! I like
the way the whole bar yells Tequilla the first time! We had to wear
those ridiculous outfits all night! This summer I played with this
band at a party in a BOWLING alley filled with people dressed as
sailors and a f@*&ing MIME opened up for us!!! (I kid you not)
