Some words about The Jumpin' WheelsWell it goes like this, see? You take Garry with a big pearly grin & swell voice on bass & vocals, add Art with some fingerpickin' finesse on that geetar 'n' voclas and add Peter nailing the rhythm down on the drums and you get The Jumpin' Wheels. Probably the first band to emerge generally on the Western scene after Rockin' Around the Eastern Bloc, these Estonian cats are about the best proper '50s rockabilly styled band to have emerged from eastern Europe. Having played both sides, East & West, they did became the first band from that region to take the stage with an original R'n'R vet, when they backed Johnny Powers on his Finnish dates. On stage or on your music gizmo, these cats make with some of the best classic cuts such as "Make Like Rock'n'Roll" or "Something I Said", add some straighter Rock'n'Roll of an equally timeless calibre, and then top it off with a couple of their own writings like "Hot Rod Mama". Sho' nuff. Take it from me, pal, I've seen 'em. The Jumpin' Wheels have the right sound, the right songs, the right attitude and... the Right Future! Marc Fenech |
