| A primeval forest grove where people used to pray and bring their sacrifices in ancient times is believed to have been near the present village graveyard close to the Esonian-Russian state border. Several old stone crosses can be seen in the graveyard, one of these dates from the Russian-Livonian war in the 16th century.
