In year 2001 was announced a contest to find operators for some public transport lines of Väike-Õismäe (area of block-houses built in 70-s), including trolleybus lines No. 6 and 7. Neither Tallinn Bus Company nor Tallinn Tram and Trolleybus Company (the only Estonian company that operates trolleybus lines) could not participate in the contest. Surprisingly one of the contestants offered possibility to continue trolleybus traffic but not so surprisingly a company was picked up called "SL Bussiliinid" that wanted to replace trolleybuses with buses.

Closing of two trolleybus-lines would have meant that the kilometre-price of trollebys had risen higher that the one of the bus. Currently trolleybus has just started earning profit (sic!).

During the year quite strange things connected with "SL Bussiliinid" came out – unrealistically low kilometre-price offered, direct connection with one city government official who made the desicion to prefer this company, debts. Also was found that there have been done mistakes while organizing the contest. So Tallinn City Government decided on the 27th of September 2001 to cancel the results of the contest.

The story that happened shows clearly that unfortunatelly people who decide about organizing city life are often interested to earn their own profit. Life in Estonia has developed a lot but there is still a lot of corruption. :-(
