The COMPETITION PROGRAMME for VIOLINISTS
Violinists
VIOLIN - Category A (born after May 1, 2000)

Preliminary Round
(VHS videotape or DVD)
1. One study
2. One piece of the contestant’s own choice

The presented pieces do not have to be from the programme of the competition.


Round I 1. Riho Esko Maimets Rehepeksu ringmäng ("Thresing Game")

2. One extensive piece or two pieces of different character

Duration of the programme in Round I should not exceed 15 minutes.


Round II
Accompanied by
Chamber Orchestra
One of the following pieces:
  A. Vivaldi Concerto in A minor, Op.3, No.6, movements 2 and 3
  J .S. Bach Concerto in A minor, BWV No.1041, movement 1
  A. Vivaldi Concerto in E major, Op.3, No.12 , movement 1

All pieces must be performed from memory and without repetition.

VIOLIN - Category B (born May 1, 1997 - May 1, 2000)

Preliminary Round
(VHS videotape or DVD)
1. One study
2. One piece of the contestant’s own choice

The presented pieces do not have to be from the programme of the competition.


Round I 1. Lepo Sumera Kaks pala sooloviiulile ("Two Pieces for Violin Solo", Piece No. 2)

3. Two parts from a Baroque sonata (with piano accompaniment)

Duration of the programme in Round I should not exceed 20 minutes.


Round II
Accompanied by
Chamber Orchestra
One of the following piano concertos:
1. J. S. Bach Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041, movements 2 and 3
2. J. Haydn Concerto in G major, Hob.VIIa:4, movement 1
3. W. A. Mozart Concerto in B major, KV 207, movement 1

All pieces must be performed from memory and without repetitions.
